The iF award was founded in Germany in 1954 and holds the reputation as one of the oldest truly independent design institutions in the world. It aims to revitalize industrial design, enhance the public’s understanding of design and promote the concept of design innovation.

Chen is a teacher from the School of Creative Design of Shenzhen Technology University. His design is made of fully recyclable, low-cost and environmentally friendly corrugated paper.

Chen’s packaging design has a simple structure, without any printing and glue. It is very convenient for assembly, display, storage and use, costing about US$0.03 for a tea brick package.

China produces over 200 million tea bricks every year.

At present, Chen’s design has won many tea enterprises’ attention and recognition for the packaging’s low cost and environmental protection concept, the report said.
