Shenzhen yesterday reported three locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases and five local asymptomatic infections. Also, another six patients were confirmed with COVID-19 from the previously detected asymptomatic infections, the Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission said yesterday.

Bao’an District’s police subbureau has put a KTV and a man under investigation over violations of COVID prevention and control measures.

According to the commission, one patient surnamed Suo, who returned from outside Guangdong Province, was tested positive from a nucleic acid test taken at a community in Bao’an.

Upon epidemiological investigation, Suo was found to have visited the Shajing location of Xingbohui KTV. The venue allowed Suo in without checking his health code. The venue was ordered to suspend business and make rectifications by Bao’an’s culture, radio, television, tourism and sports bureau.

Furthermore, according to the investigation, after Suo’s arrival in the city Aug. 17, he didn’t report his travel history to the community in a timely manner. He even joined a gathering, further spreading the virus to other people.

The commission reminded residents who came back from outside Shenzhen to report their journey to their communities in time and comply with COVID prevention and control measures.
