The alert for Typhoon Ma-on has been lowered to blue from yellow, the third-highest level in its five-tier color-coded typhoon warning system, this morning as Ma-on landed in Dianbai in Guangdong at around 10:30 a.m., further away from Shenzhen.

All of the city's public parks, which were closed yesterday, reopen to the public today. Shenzhen Library reopened this afternoon, while Shenzhen Museum remained closed. Greenways across the city were also closed, while Shekou Cruise Homeport also suspended service. All flights scheduled for from 3 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport are suspended, according to the airport.

The public is warned to stay vigilant, properly stow away items at outdoor areas, stay away from large outdoor billboards, and keep themselves updated with the latest weather report. During the typhoon, citizens can go to the city’s indoor emergency shelters to avoid danger should the need arise.
