On Sunday, a citizen surnamed Guan from Longgang District was impressed by how fast the collection of nucleic acid sampling information could be using an intelligent code-scanning device during the testing process, Shenzhen Evening News reported.

In only four seconds, the information collection was completed at the Nanwan Subdistrict Office nucleic acid testing site. “I didn’t expect it to be so fast!” Guan said, adding that the smart code-scanning device made the whole process more efficient.

The device was first put into use in Nanwan Subdistrict in Longgang District on Friday. At present, it has been used in three venues of the subdistrict office and the nucleic acid testing sites in Nanxin Community.

Citizens only need to present their nucleic acid codes and get the codes scanned by the device, which is placed on the right side of a table, for a nucleic acid test.

According to a staffer from the subdistrict office, the device can help reduce staffing by 50% and cut the cost of nucleic acid sampling, greatly improving the efficiency of the sampling process and reducing the burden on anti-COVID workers.
