Meaning:
“回音室” means “echo chamber,” and “效应” means “effect.” Information can come from many different sources and perspectives, but when you’re only hearing the same perspectives and opinions over and over again, you may be in something called an echo chamber. An echo chamber is an environment where a person only encounters information or opinions that reflect and reinforce their own. Echo chambers can create misinformation and distort a person’s perspective so they have difficulty considering opposing viewpoints and discussing complicated topics. On the internet, almost anyone can quickly find like-minded people and perspectives via social media and countless news sources. This has made echo chambers far more numerous and easy to fall into.

B: 这是回音室效应。你和你周围的人意见一致，但并不代表大多数人的看法。
Zhè shì huíyīnshì xiàoyìng。 Nǐ hé nǐ zhōuwéi de rén yìjiàn yīzhì， dàn bìng bù dàibiǎo dàduōshù rén de kànfǎ。
This can be attributed to the echo chamber effect. You and those close to you share a similar opinion, but that doesn’t necessarily represent what the majority of the public thinks.
