To kick off the event, Hu Houkun, Huawei’s rotating chairman, delivered a keynote speech outlining the company’s steps to advance digital development across a wide range of industries. The measures include boosting digital infrastructure, building local digital ecosystems and strengthening the digital talent pool.
Despite GDP growth remaining unstable over the past two years, the digital economy still grew over 15% in 2021 globally, according to Hu. “Going digital is clearly the right choice,” Hu said. “The demand is there, as well as the technologies. The world is unleashing digital productivity and it’s happening right now,” he added.
