Starting from yesterday, Shenzhen residents who plan to travel out of the city are required to present only one negative 48-hour nucleic acid test result in order to access public transportation, according to a notice issued yesterday by the city’s COVID-19 prevention and control headquarters office.

Previously, residents who would depart the city needed to produce two negative nucleic acid test results within 48 hours in order to access public transportation after the authority had tightened the COVID measures Sept. 1.

Shenzhen reported one confirmed COVID case yesterday, according to the city’s health commission. The patient, who lives in Bao’an District, was found in COVID testing of quarantined groups.

Starting yesterday, all passengers entering Shenzhen are required to undergo a nucleic acid test within 24 hours, while those coming from medium or high-risk areas are also required to conduct a few more tests in the following days, according to the health authority.
