Staffers at scientific research institutes in Shenzhen said they felt inspired after watching the opening session of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Sunday morning.

Qi Zhuyun from Peng Cheng Laboratory told Shenzhen Special Zone Daily: “As scientific and technological workers, we must always bear in mind the country’s development missions and tasks, and contribute to self-reliance and self-improvement in science and technology.”

Si Tong from Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences said that Xi Jinping’s report has made scientific research workers more determined to achieve breakthroughs in leading technologies.

“As science and technology workers, we will inherit and carry forward the spirit of the older generation of scientists,” Si added.
