Meaning:
“页” is short for “网页” (wǎngyè, literally means “web page”), and “游” is short for “游戏” (yóuxì, literally means “game”). A term familiar to Chinese gamers, this refers to “browser games,” or “browser-based games.” These are computer games played online using just a web browser, sometimes with a common plug-in such as Java or Flash, without the necessity of downloading additional software to your computer. Browser games are designed to be played on a wide range of systems and devices. Some previously popular video games have been made into browser games, including Super Mario Bros and Pac-Man.
