The 30th China (Shenzhen) International Gifts and Home Products Fair opened at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Bao’an District today, attracting flocks of professional buyers looking for gifts and household items for various purposes.

The four-day event, the largest of its kind domestically, gathers about 5,300 exhibitors in 13 halls covering an exhibition area of 260,000 square meters, according to the organizer, RX Huabo Exhibition Co.

The fair displays around 30 product categories including digital gadgets, electrical appliances, kitchen supplies, food, home decorations, toys, beauty products, cultural and creative products, and outdoor gear.

China-Chic designs that incorporate unique native cultural elements into the latest trends, as well as novel cultural and creative items continue to spring up in the fair’s November edition in Hall 11.

One of the hall’s showstoppers is the original, simple, artistic and elegant collection of fragrance diffusers at Project Object’s booth, which captivated visitors’ senses of sight and smell.

“There is also a poetic or philosophical touch to each of these fragrance diffusers as you read the descriptions, which will help you understand the designers’ ideas and appreciate the designs as more than just objects,” said Zhang Zhi, sales manager at Shenzhen EY-PRODUCTS Household Products Co., owner of the Project Object brand.

The company also strives to design stationery that captures the zeitgeist of the current society. “We highly value originality and creativity, and we create truly unique pieces with the materials we get,” Zhang said.

Hoxs Nadi, a Jordanian expat, was seen strolling around the fair with his colleagues today. Nadi works for Shanghai Regravity Trading Co. and has been living in Shenzhen for years.

“I come to the gifts fair almost every year, mainly looking for new ideas and products for our clients,” Nadi said.

Founded in 1993, the Shenzhen Gifts Fair is held twice a year and has been known as the largest gifts fair in China. It was certified by UFI, or the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, in 2005.
