Expo highlights marine tech innovations

China Marine Economy Expo, the only national marine economic exhibition in the country, opened at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District this morning. The fair, which will run through Saturday, highlights China's latest innovations in the marine economy, including ultra-deepwater semi-submersible drilling platforms “Blue Whale I” and “Blue Whale II,” the world’s first ship with intelligent unmanned system, and China’s self-developed “Deep Sea No 1” energy station, the world's first 100,000-ton deep-sea semi-submersible oil production and storage platform. With an exhibition area covering 60,000 square meters, the expo is estimated to attract over 1,000 exhibitors and features over 20 forums and supporting activities.
