Eight new parks in Guangming District have recently opened their doors to visitors.

The eight new parks include Minghu City Park that features vehicle culture, Baihua Garden with a long flower corridor of over 600 meters, Guangming Herbal Garden that features Chinese herbals, the modern and fashionable Science City Wisdom Park, the community park Yuqin Garden, Changle Park whose design originates from lion dancing and Kylin dancing, Xitian Park, and Xiguangyue Park.

The “Fine Guangming” themed event includes lakeside camping, a parent-child bazaar, a children’s painting exhibition, a vehicle-themed exhibition, and a concert.

In recent years, Guangming District has been focusing on the building of a world-class science city with a green environment and has been pushing forward the construction of a “district of parks.”

In addition to the eight new parks, Guangming District has built a number of other popular parks and green areas including Hongqiao Park (also known as Red Bridge Park), the Dadingling Greenway, Honghuashan Park and Zuo’an Science and Technology Park.

The district currently has a greenway slow traffic system network of 158 kilometers. It has upgraded the landscape of a total of 42 intersections of trunk roads, has built three nature education centers based on the rich biological resources of Dayang Mountain and Dadingling, and has added 31 pocket parks and gardens, providing more green areas for residents.

In addition, in accordance with the principles of “zero increase of cement roads, zero impact on natural environment, and zero harm to species,” the district has planned and built a total of 145 kilometers of hiking trails and ecological rings.
