SZ to add over 12,290 roadside parking spaces

Shenzhen plans to add over 12,290 roadside parking spaces, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported, citing a plan by the city’s transport bureau and traffic police bureau.

The two bureaus jointly made the plan and are soliciting public opinions.

Specifically, 147 new roadside parking spaces will be added on three roads in Futian District, 456 spaces on four roads in Nanshan District, 120 spaces on Liyuan Road in Luohu District and 83 spaces on four roads in Yantian District.

Bao’an District will have 4,661 more parking spaces on 55 roads, while Longgang will have 3,301 more spaces on 47 roads. There will be 449 new parking spaces on five roads in Longhua, 2,569 roadside spots on 21 roads in Guangming, 460 spaces in Pingshan and 44 spaces in Dapeng.

The number of the roadside parking spaces through the “Yitingche” system is expected to increase to over 50,000 from the current 20,000, according to the city’s transport bureau in response to the city’s lawmakers recently.
