City kicks off construction of 247 projects

Shenzhen announced the beginning of the construction of 247 projects at a ceremony Saturday.

The projects will involve a total investment of 377.5 billion yuan (US$54.25 billion), including 22.2 billion yuan for 2022. The projects mainly cover the industrial sector, infrastructure, public service projects and property development, a source from the Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission said.

In the industrial sector, 60 projects include the infrastructure facilities for the TCL CSOT Auxiliary Industrial Park, the research and production base for liquid crystal polymer 5G radio frequency system and Shenzhen Industrial Software Park.

The 82 infrastructure projects include the renovation and expansion projects of the Shenzhen section of the Huizhou-Yantian Expressway, Phase II of Futian Water Purification Plant and the railway link between Pinghu South Cargo Yard and Yantian Port.

The 72 projects for public services include the science and education building of Shenzhen Children’s Hospital, science building of Shenzhen University Xili Lake Campus and Bijia Hill Sports Park.

The 33 property development projects include Phase I of the urban rejuvenation project of Yantian villages, and urban renovation projects in Longhua CBD and Dalangshan areas.
