What was previously a nucleic acid sampling booth has recently been turned into a fever consulting room in Anle Community in Xin’an Subdistrict, Bao’an District, Shenzhen Evening News reported yesterday.

The subdistrict is now working to convert some of its nucleic acid sampling booths that are out of use into fever consulting rooms, in a bid to facilitate diagnosis and treatment for the community’s residents.

The new fever consulting room at Anle Community is the first of its kind in Bao’an. The whole consultation process would take about five minutes, including diagnosis, prescription, payment and dispensing medicine, according to the News report.

Yang Buqin, deputy director of Haiyu Community Health Center of Xin’an Subdistrict, said the booth is an independent space and serves well as a fever clinic.

“The booth is well ventilated and is equipped with an ultraviolet disinfection machine to avoid cross-infections, so that patients can seek medical treatment in a safe environment,” Yang was quoted as saying.

The practice is also conducive to alleviating fever clinics’ long queues in hospitals. Some netizens have commented, “It makes full use of existing equipment to facilitate citizens.” “I hope it can be further promoted. The booths are very practical and we can make use of them.” “This change really solves a big problem for residents!”
