SZTU students win big at smart car competition

The outdoor session of the 17th National College Student Smart Car Competition was held at Shenzhen Technology University from Dec. 12 to 17, 2022.This was an A-level scientific competition initiated by the Ministry of Education for college and university students. Over 500 teams from 170 colleges and universities signed up for this year’s competition.

At the opening ceremony on Dec. 11, a myriad of racecar experience activities was held at the university.

Among the many teams from renowned universities, the team from the College of Urban Transportation and Logistics of Shenzhen Technology University was one of the new standouts. The team was established in August 2019, and during last year’s national smart car competition for university students, they won a second and a third prize.

This year, they competed in multiple categories including the smart car race, self-riding bicycle challenge and the unmanned go-kart race. As the competition wrapped up, the young team clinched two first prizes, three second prizes and two third prizes in three categories.
