A sharing platform — “新冠防护药物公益互助” WeChat miniprogram — enables citizens provide mutual help with COVID supplies, especially medicines and rapid antigen test kits, has been widely used these days.

A resident surnamed Liu had a sneaking suspicions that she might catch COVID. However, she didn’t have an antigen test kit in stock. When she was anxious in how to figure out her body condition, she saw a post from the sharing platform, claiming that there are antigen test kits available for people in need.

Liu then contacted the person who sent that post and received the test kits soon after. She felt the relieved when she saw her negative COVID result. In return, she also helped others on the platform get antipyretic drugs.

The sharing platform is jointly developed by Tencent teams — “腾讯出行服务” and “腾讯地图.” On the platform, citizens can ask for help with COVID supplies and people with extra materials can provide assistance. The platform will generate virtual phone numbers for users to get in touch to protect their personal information.

In order to help more people in need, the miniprogram’s developers are encouraging more social institutions, including drug manufacturers, to join in the platform.
