SZ among top for innovative talents index

Shenzhen ranked first in China in terms of the number of R&D (research and development) personnel per 10,000 people, as shown by the China Innovative Talents Index 2022 jointly released by Shenzhen Talent Group Co. Ltd. and the Research Center of Technological Innovation of Tsinghua University on Saturday.

In addition, Shenzhen ranked first and second in the country respectively in terms of the number of non-invention patents authorized and the number of invention patents.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Yangtze River Delta city cluster and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei city cluster also showed a high level on innovative talent development.

Moreover, Shenzhen, Shanghai and Beijing were among the first-tier group in leading the country’s talent development, according to the report.

The Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences were among the top for excellent performance with a short establishment time, while Tsinghua University, Peking University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University were among the top three in the comprehensive ranking of universities.

The latest report added indexes such as the number of national sci-tech awards and the number of specialized and sophisticated enterprises that produce new and unique products to highlight the value of top industrial talents and national sci-tech talents.
