The Netherlands is well known for its flowers, with the tulip as its symbol. The exhibition is designed to mark a new starting point in the friendship and fresh cooperation opportunities between the two countries, according to Antoni Mandemaker, acting consul general of the consulate-general of the Netherlands in Guangzhou who took part in the installation’s inauguration ceremony Friday at the Xiangmihu Flower Wonderland.

To celebrate the occasion, the Shenzhen Municipal Urban Administration and Law Enforcement Bureau created the flower exhibition featuring Dutch elements such as tulips and Delft Blue porcelains, presenting a good opportunity for citizens to learn more about the Dutch culture as well as the friendship between the two countries, according to Feng Zengjun, deputy director of the Shenzhen Municipal Urban Administration and Law Enforcement Bureau.
