New rules to support firms' employment, production

The city will give out a total of 270 million yuan (US$39.91 million) in subsidies to support enterprises’ production and employment stability.

According to a notice released Thursday by the Shenzhen Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, a manufacturer whose industrial output value reached 200 million yuan in 2022 will receive a subsidy of 2 million yuan if its production remains ongoing during the Spring Festival holiday period between Jan. 21 and 27, and its employees on duty will receive 200 yuan per person a day during the holiday period.

Enterprises engaged in producing items such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenations, respirators, oxygenators, nasal nebulizers, and COVID-19 treatment medicine will each receive a subsidy of 2 million yuan and on-duty employees will each receive a 400-yuan subsidy per day during the holiday.

Enterprises with employees returning to work Feb. 5, if the number of employees reaches 500, will receive a 400,000-yuan subsidy for transportation, and each employee will receive a 200-yuan transport subsidy.

Enterprises that recruit new employees between Feb. 1 and April 4, paying social insurance for three months, can get subsidies of up to 300,000 yuan. Each new employee will receive a subsidy of 500 yuan, and another 500 yuan will be given to first-time employees.

Municipal and district-level human resources bureaus and employment service agencies will organize 203 job fairs in total, with 111 online, in the spring recruitment season. The bureau will also cooperate with enterprises in nearby areas in the province to organize job fairs.
