Temperatures plunge as cold wave arrives

Temperatures tomorrow and Wednesday in Shenzhen will plunge to the minimum of 8 degrees Celsius as a strong cold air from the north arrived in the city yesterday, according to the Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory.

In addition, the weather from tomorrow to Friday will be dry with large temperature difference between day and night.

Cold weather will continue from today to Friday. Citizens are advised to keep warm amid the temperature plunge and pay attention to ventilation when using heating facilities, according to the observatory.

Meanwhile, China’s meteorological authority issued a blue alert for a cold wave yesterday, forecasting big temperature drops and gales in vast regions of the country.

In addition to Guangdong, strong wind is also forecast to sweep Liaodong Peninsula, Shandong Peninsula, and parts of Guangxi from today to tomorrow morning, Xinhua reported.

China has a four-tier, color-coded weather warning system, with red representing the most severe weather, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
