An event in celebration the Chinese New Year will take place in Shenzhen Happy Valley on Jan. 22 and will last through Feb. 5. The event will also mark the start of a series of special activities celebrating Shenzhen Happy Valley's 25th anniversary of its opening.

From Jan. 22 to 27, world-class harlequinade masters, intangible cultural heritage performers and magicians will present more than 100 shows at the theme park.

During the event, two star entertainment facilities will be open to the tourists. A 28-meter-tall project named Storm Swing allows tourists to experience the feeling of weightlessness at a high altitude. The upgraded Mine Cart uses antique car bodies and exquisite special effects to give tourists the feeling of rushing through a lightning storm and shuttling back and forth in a world of light and shadow.

The amusement park will also launch a series of activities featuring this year’s CCTV Spring Festival Gala’s mascot Tuyuanyuan (chubby rabbit). Some of the Tuyuanyuan non-player characters will interact with and send blessings to tourists. There will also be themed zones selling Tuyuanyuan peripheral products, traditional New Year food and New Year lucky bags.
