A lantern Festival temple fair will be held at Nantou Ancient Town from Friday to Sunday. Visitors can appreciate colorful lanterns, buy creative cultural products and experience intangible cultural heritage.
The highlight of this year’s fair is folk handicraft. The ancient town has invited folk craftsmen from Shenzhen and elsewhere to participate in the event.
Craftsmen from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, as well as Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces will present clothes, potteries and other products they made. Artists will perform Cantonese Opera and puppet shows, play pipa and sing folk songs on stage. Members of the Shenzhen Hanfu Culture Association and inheritors of intangible cultural heritage will tour around the ancient town.
Citizens can experience traditional folk art and create their own works in a workshop every afternoon this weekend.
Also, citizens essentially can’t miss riddle-guessing games while admiring beautiful lanterns dotting the squares in the ancient town.
