This year, the city will launch 10 campaigns in fields such as walking trails, park services and garbage disposal facilities to promote the overall urban management work.

Shenzhen will improve 330 kilometers of greenways, including hiking trails spanning 260 kilometers. The city will make use of natural, cultural and historical resources to build 40 featured walking trails.

Shenzhen will speed up its efforts to connect five parks —Shenzhen Central Park, Bijia Hill Park, Lianhua Hill Park, Meilin Mountain Park and Yinhu Mountain Park — by greenways. The city will also build or renovate 30 parks and construct 120 community gardens this year.

A total of 30 public toilets in parks and more than 40 outdoor sports venues will be renovated. The city will add 50 AEDs (automatic external defibrillators) and six book bars in parks.

The city also aims to make parking reservation services available at all parks. In addition, the city will enhance the management of urban trees, and plant over 100,000 new trees and create 100 garden-style intersections.

Shenzhen will purchase 200 pure electric sanitation vehicles and more than 152 LNG (liquefied natural gas) and hydrogen fuel waste transfer vehicles, according to the work plan.
