Members of rescue teams from the Shenzhen Rescue Volunteers Federation have been working against the clock to search for survivors in Türkiye’s quake-hit areas since their arrivals in rapid succession.

The Shenzhen Rescue Volunteers Federation sent an advance team of six members Wednesday, who arrived in Istanbul at around 11:10 a.m. (Beijing time) on Thursday. Another 17-member team of the federation left Shenzhen on Thursday, carrying more than 600 kilograms of materials for rescue work in Türkiye. The team departed from Hong Kong airport in two separate flights and had arrived.

The death toll from the twin earthquakes that rocked Türkiye and Syria on Feb. 6 has climbed to over 30,000 as of Sunday evening, according to a Xinhua report. Rescue teams from across Türkiye and around the world were still trying to find survivors in the rubble of toppled buildings and pulled them out against all odds. Chinese rescuers have so far successfully rescued at least four survivors.

Shenzhen residents can call the hotline 0755-2345-6789 for inquiries on how to donate materials.
