Light shows resume at Futian CBD, reservation needed

Light shows at the Futian CBD, which were suspended for a long time due to the pandemic, have resumed at night regularly, sources from the city’s urban management bureau said.

The dynamic light shows will be displayed every Friday and Saturday as well as one day before and on the official Chinese holidays, including New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day. The show will go thrice on these days at 7 p.m., 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. from November to March, and at 7:30 p.m. 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. from April to October. Each show will last 15 minutes.

Citizens interested to see the dynamic light shows at Civic Center Square are required to make reservations via the “福田中心区夜景灯光预约导引服务” WeChat miniprogram. Metro passengers are advised to take exits B or F at Civic Center Station to reach the viewing area.

Aside from the dynamic light shows, citizens can appreciate regular lights from buildings in the CBD Mondays to Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. However, there will be no lights shown every Sunday.
