Dance 'Guardians of Red Boat'

The Chinese dance drama “Guardians of Red Boat” depicts Wang Huiwu (1898-1993), who helped her husband Li Da in preparation for the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China held in July, 1921. In preparation for the congress, the couple selected a traditional Shanghai brick-and-wood house as its venue. After being spied on, Wang suggested the delegates move to a boat on Nanhu Lake in her hometown Jiaxing to continue the meeting in August.
