The Yawn

The Yawn

Here I have captured a white-lipped pit viper. These are common in our forest and mountain areas around Shenzhen. This was a special and once-in-a-lifetime moment to capture as the snake decided to stretch its jaw out in front of me. This likely meant that before I came upon him he had just finished a meal. These snakes are not aggressive and will almost never bite unless they are provoked and in danger themselves.
