Flamevine (Pyrostegia venusta) 炮仗花
Carrying cascades of bright orange tubular flowers, flame vines (Pyrostegia venusta), commonly called the Chinese cracker flower, can be found in almost every neighborhood across Shenzhen. The views of flowering flame vines are especially spectacular in Xiangmi Park in Futian District, which is said to have the largest clusters of flame vines in the city. Other places to admire the flower include Honghu Park, Litchi Park, Lianhua Hill Park, and Bijia Mountain Park. Photos by Liu Minxia
