Shenzhen Qianhai Taikang International Hospital, the first hospital featuring international medical service in Qianhai’s core area and one of the five major medical centers of Taikang Medical Group, was completed yesterday at its rooftop completion ceremony after over two years’ construction.
Jointly invested by Taikang Insurance Group and Shenzhen Qianhai Investment Holding Co., the hospital has agreed with Cedars-Sinai to work toward a long-term partnership, as the latter will provide education and guidance, bringing expertise in quality, safety and personalized care.
The hospital is located in Qianwan area, next to Harrow International School Shenzhen Qianhai. It has an investment of nearly 5 billion yuan (US$725.06 million) and a total floor area of 219,000 square meters. Additionaly, it plans to offer 1,160 beds.
The first batch of medical professionals were recruited, and among them, 44 are leading academic scholars, the hospital said.
According to the hospital, it will focus on patients’ needs and provide whole-person and whole-chain medical and health services, focusing on the development of women and children, orthopedics and sports medicine, and geriatric medicine. Based on this, it will develop a minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of the digestive tract, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and health management, among others.
The hospital is designed by HDR (Hendanrui) and aims to create a horticultural and artistic architectural environment.
