The Shenzhen stop of NEED! FLEA marketplace was held at the Sea World Culture and Arts Center from Friday to Sunday. Participants joined the event to look for new and vintage jewelry, clothing and bric-a-brac pieces, enjoy some electronic music performances or make some new friends.

The three-day market featured 83 booths whose holders include curio collectors, vintage shop owners, clothing and jewelry designers, artists and photographers. Complementing the booths are a bunch of suitcase-turned stalls whose owners are amateur sellers.

The activity invited 16 bands, disc jockeys and music producers from local electronic music clubs and record labels to bring a three-day party of diversified music.

In addition to browsing the flea market and enjoying the performances, visitors could also interact with some adorable fluffy friends at the stall of the Shenzhen Street Dogs’ House, a local nonprofit platform operating since 2006 to help stray dogs find a home.

The NEED! FLEA market is organized by NEED!, a youth culture brand from Shanghai which has been exploring a unique, chic and sustainable lifestyle with young Chinese people as its philosophy. Its Shenzhen stop is co-organized by Design Society. Let's feel the vibe through our photographer's lens.
