SZ designers grab the limelight at Milan Fashion Week

HUI's show at 23A/W Milano Fashion Week

Three Shenzhen brands presented their latest creations during the Milan Fashion Week, with two of them staging catwalk shows at the biannual fashion pageant in Milan, Italy, on Sunday night.

The runway show by HUI, a sub-brand of Shenzhen fashion designer Zhao Huizhou’s Eachway Fashion Group, is themed on "the Ballad of Mulan," an ancient story about Chinese legendary woman warrior Hua Mulan.

It was Zhao's 12th appearance at the Milan fashion show. She was one of the core designers for the spouses’ outfits during the 22nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Beijing in 2014, and her previous shows in Milan all centered on traditional Chinese culture, seeking to display a balance between tradition and modernity.

ANNAKIKI, an avant-garde brand founded by Shenzhen designer Anna Yang in 2012., also unveiled its latest collection Sunday night. Yang is known for bold and futuristic designs. Another Shenzhen designer, Sara Wong, presented a collection under her eponymous brand through an online event organized by Milan Fashion Week.
