Lantana camara, native to Central and South America, has escaped gardens and parks throughout the world, and even found its way into Shenzhen. Visitors can easily encounter dense thickets of lantana camara plants along the city’s hiking trails. Its tiny five-lobed flowers in dense hemispherical clusters bloom summer to fall. Flower colors include white, yellow, orange, red and purple, often mixed in the same cluster. Moshanghua Park in Bao’an District boasts an ocean of lantana camara flowers. File photos
