Rain lily 葱兰

The name “rain lily” comes from their tendency to send up flushes of flowers within a few days after a soaking rain. It is known by many names: rain lily, zephyr lily, fairy lily. Their delicate star-shaped blossoms can be pink, white or even yellow. There are many cultivated species of rain lilies, and different species bloom at different times. The plant can bloom multiple times in Shenzhen from July to September and each flower can stay for a week. Shenzhen Central Park in Futian District has more than 3,000 square meters of rain lilies with mostly pink blossoms. Visitors can find white rain lilies in Xiangmi Park, while Shenzhen Bay Park and Bao’an Park also have pink rain lilies. File photos
