Plum blossom 梅花
Originating around China’s Yangtze River, the plum blossom has been cultivated in China for about 3,000 years. In Chinese culture, it is considered to be representative of nobility, strength and modesty. With delicate and fragrant blossoms in colors of red, pink and white, it produces flowers from January through March in Shenzhen. The flowering period varies for different varieties of the plum trees. Shenzhen’s Plum Garden in Tanglang Mountain Park grows roughly 2,000 plum trees on a land covering an area of 1.5 hectares.
