Chinese Roses 月季

Native to the temperate areas of Sichuan, Hubei, and Guizhou provinces in southwestern China, Chinese roses usually flourish in climates cooler than Shenzhen’s. The city’s parks, however, has found ways to successfully host the perennial evergreen shrub. The Shenzhen Rose Show, a fixture in Renmin Park, features hundreds of rose varieties. Other places to view Chinese roses include Xiangmi Park in Futian District and Songgang Chinese Roses Park in Bao’an District. Photos by Wang Haolan
