Three health institutions in Nanshan District launched an intelligent medical service platform Monday, enabling patients to see the doctor before paying their medical fees, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported.
The three institutions are Huazhong University of Science and Technology Union Shenzhen Hospital (Nanshan Hospital) and Tianxia and Dazhong community health centers.

When a resident gets authorized depending on his or her credit score, the person can enjoy getting treatment before paying. The move will largely simplify the medical procedure and save patients’ time.
“This is my first time to use the system. It is so convenient that I don’t have to wait for quite a long time to get my medications,” a citizen surnamed Zhang, who would get her prescriptions every month in community health centers, said.
According to Zhang, what worried her most was waiting in lines to pay medical fees. Previously, she had to pay three times for registration, checkup and prescriptions. With the new platform, she only paid once after receiving prescriptions, saving her over half an hour for the whole process.
In order to achieve convenient medical services, Nanshan established the platform that supports patients seeking doctors based on their credit scores. The platform gathered citizens’ data from social security, medical insurance and public credit.
Citizens 18 years old and above who have paid social security contributions in Shenzhen can apply for an account on the platform. A user can also share the same account with family members, especially the elderly and children.
The simplified model is expected to be expanded to other qualified hospitals and health centers in Nanshan.
