Construction on Phase I of a high-rise factory — Pingshan New Energy Vehicle Industry Park — will be finished by the end of this month, Shenzhen Evening News reported yesterday.

The factory has 17 floors, with a single floor measuring up to 10 meters high. The first three floors can withstand loads as heavy as 2.5 tons per square meter, while the other floors can withstand 650 kilograms per square meter. Each block in the factory is equipped with a freight elevator for supersize cars, where a large vehicle can directly enter the third floor to load and unload cargos, and a small car can take the elevator all the way to the top floor.

The project covers a 107,800-square-meter area, providing a high-quality industrial space with a floor area of 321,000 square meters. It will be an integrated space for research, offices, production and tech displays. The factory, compared to a traditional single-story one, will feature premises in a customized high-rise with low rents.

A batch of new energy enterprises such as BYD and Capchem have signed deals to occupy the factory. It is also awaiting more high-end manufacturers for occupancy.
