Metro passenger density ranks 4th

The Shenzhen Metro network’s daily average passenger density reached 11,100 passenger trips per kilometer in 2022, ranking fourth among Chinese cities, data from the Shenzhen rail office showed Monday.

The railway density reached 0.28 kilometers per square kilometer in 2022, taking the lead among Metros in China and the passenger satisfaction poll reached 90 out of 100 points for the first time, the evaluation result showed.

In 2022, the city opened five Metro lines, totaling 128 kilometers and the whole network (including the tram line) handled 1.75 billion passenger trips, as well as took 63.6% share of the city’s public transport system.
