A Ceremony was held Tuesday to kick off the renovation project on the Bao’an section of the G107 national highway, which runs from Beijing to Hong Kong. Traffic in the area has been horrible, especially after Metro Line 12 opened, according to a Shenzhen Economic Daily report.
The renovation project will be first launched on the section between Airport South and Airport roads, with a total length of about 3.2 kilometers. There will be eight vehicle lanes in both directions and four auxiliary lanes in both directions after the renovation project.
The renovation will improve traffic efficiency and lay a foundation for the renovation of the whole Bao’an section of G107, the report said.
The first renovated road section runs 1.9 kilometers along Line 12, and the project aims to optimize the needs of people, machines and the environment.
Tuesday’s ceremony also saw the start of the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) industrial internet public technical service platform, which is an important industrial infrastructure planned for the city’s 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025) and one of the key big data platforms in the GBA.
The platform aims to become a first-class global industrial internet platform focusing on providing comprehensive services for small and medium-sized enterprises in the manufacturing sector to pursue digital transformation and innovation, according to the report.
