Citizen conductors wanted for SZ Park Symphony

The first Shenzhen Park Symphony flash mob event and a green concert celebrating the World Earth Day will be jointly held by the Shenzhen Vitalization Symphony Development Foundation, Shenzhen park management center, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Tencent Music Entertainment Group, QQ Music and other charity organizations at Shenzhen Bay Park’s Bailupo Book Bar on April 16.

To fully engage the public, the concert is now seeking 10 citizens to experience the event as orchestral conductors. Selected conductors will direct the performance staged by the Shenzhen University Chamber Orchestra.

Interested citizens can scan the QR code below for registration. The registration deadline is April 12. Successful applicants will be informed through a text message.

The selected 10 citizens need to arrive at the event site (Bailupo Book Bar at Shenzhen Bay Park) before 3:30 p.m. on the day of the event (April 16) and will perform on stage at 4 p.m. Each person will be given a maximum three minutes to stand in front of the orchestra to direct its performance of "Main Title," the theme song of "Game of Thrones."

Citizens will also have a chance to receive one-on-one guidance on conducting knowledge from invited artists with the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra.

The First Shenzhen Park Symphony flash mob event and the “Earth Day” green concert is aimed to create an interesting scene for citizens to join the park symphony, mobilize people to participate in the environmental protection activity through symphonic music, and improve the overall environment of the earth through green and low-carbon living.

The final interpretation rights of the event belong to the Shenzhen Vitalization Symphony Development Foundation.
