SZ offers 1,256 internships for Taiwan youths

Shenzhen will offer internships to 1,256 youths from Taiwan in the summer vocation starting mid-July this year.

At a news conference Thursday, the Shenzhen Municipal Taiwan Affairs Office said a total of 359 local enterprises and institutions including Fortune 500 companies like Ping An, Tencent and China Merchants Bank, and industrial leaders like the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, WeBank and Kingdee, have participated in the internship program, which aims to promote exchanges among young people and encourage entrepreneurship of Taiwan compatriots on the mainland.

Among the 1,256 internship posts, 564 will come with employment opportunities.

“The internship program is a platform for Taiwan youths to learn about Shenzhen and its enterprises, and get employed in the city,” said Xu Fuxian, chief supervisor of the Shenzhen Taiwan Merchant Association, at the launch ceremony.

Interested applicants can apply at https://www.sztmas.cn, the association’s official website.

This is Shenzhen’s seventh year to offer internships to Taiwan youths. Over the past years, over 700 Taiwan youths have participated in the program.
