Drivers to Dapeng Peninsula during weekends and peak holiday season between April 29 and Oct. 6 are required to make reservations via Shenzhen traffic police’s WeChat accounts “深圳交警” or “深圳交警权威发布” one week prior to their travel date, police said in a release.
The reservation system will open to the public today.
Holidaymakers can make their reservations by putting in their chosen date, time and vehicle information in the system. Those who cancel their reservation twice will be disqualified to make further reservations for the whole year.
Vehicles that enter the controlled area in the south of the tunnel of Diefu Mountain in Dapeng New Area without prior reservations will be fined 300 yuan (US$43.59) and have one-point penalty added to the driver’s license, according to the rules.
Buses, passenger vehicles with over 10 seats, cabs, fire engines, ambulances, rescue and emergency vehicles or those heading to Huizhou via Yanba Expressway are not restricted by the rule, according to the police.
