The University of Hong Kong Qianhai Institute of Intelligent Transport was inaugurated in Qianhai yesterday morning, offering a new platform for Shenzhen and Hong Kong to jointly promote scientific innovation and coordinated industrial development of the smart transport and smart city fields of the two places.

Shen Zuojun, vice president of Hong Kong University, said that Qianhai has unique advantages in terms of innovation of application scenarios of smart city and smart transportation. “We hope to give full play to the strengths of Qianhai and the University of Hong Kong to jointly promote the high-quality development of the institute and promote the exchange of talents and technologies between Hong Kong and the mainland,” he said.
The Shenzhen-Hong Kong Intelligent Transportation Forum in Qianhai also kicked off after the ceremony.
