The first Wine to Asia Shenzhen International Wine and Spirits Fair (Wine to Asia), a Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area-based professional wine and spirits exhibition, will open at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District from Thursday to Saturday.

With a lineup of more than 450 exhibitors from 27 countries, the exhibition is projected to attract over 15,000 professional visitors.

An international wine show, the event will feature pavilions presented by wine associations and governmental institutions of different countries and regions, including the Italian Trade Agency, Wines of South Africa, ViniPortugal, Wines of Argentina, I Feel Slovenia, Spain Top Wines, China’s Yantai, D.O.Ca Rioja, Maison de la Région Occitanie - Sud de France, Consulate General of Argentina in Guangzhou, Consulate General of Uruguay in Guangzhou, and Flanders Investment & Trade.

These national and regional pavilions will be complemented by independent exhibitors, an exhibition area dedicated to natural wines, an exhibition area showcasing wines from emerging Chinese winemakers, several areas for spirits such as gin, sake and whiskey, as well as areas for low-alcohol and zero-alcohol drinks.

In addition to tasting wines from wine regions around the globe, wine professionals and lovers will also have the chance to gain more insight into specific wine regions and wine estates through the more than 30 masterclasses and tasting sessions the show offers. Some of the speakers to expect include wine critic and published writer Ian D’Agata, China’s first Master Sommelier Yang Lyu and Chinese baijiu educator Xu Shixiao. If you are interested in the stories of some of China’s most representative wineries, be sure not to miss the sharing by Judy Chan, owner of Grace Vineyard in Shanxi Province, and Sun Miao and Peng Shuai, owner and winemaker of Domaine des Arômes in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

Wine and Asia is co-hosted by Veronafiere, an Italian-based exhibition company that also hosts VinItaly, one of the world’s largest wine exhibitions, and Shenzhen Pacco Communication.
