The seventh Shenzhen Brand Week kicked off yesterday with a raft of themed activities that will run until Monday.

At the opening ceremony, two award lists — the ninth International Renowned Brand and the 20th Shenzhen Top Brand — were unveiled.

A total of 10 brands were selected for the International Renowned Brand award, which includes TCL CSOT, one of the world’s leading semiconductor display companies, MGI, a leading producer of clinical high-throughput gene sequencers, and SUNWODA, which is engaged in the new energy industry.

The 20th Shenzhen Top Brand award list includes 116 local brands. So far, a total of 982 Shenzhen brands have been granted the title of Shenzhen Top Brand, accounting for nearly 0.04% of the total number of companies in the city.

The sales of the 982 brands accounted for 49.95% of the city’s total sales, while their export volumes accounted for 37.1% of the city’s total exports, according to information released at the opening ceremony.

In addition, the Brand Finance China 500 2023 annual report on the most valuable and strongest Chinese brands was also released at the ceremony.

At the same time, invited guests including Ueda Toshihiro, vice chairman of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China, delivered speeches on topics such as brand internationalization, innovation and high-quality development during the 2023 GBA Quality Brand Summit Forum held yesterday after the opening ceremony.

This year’s Shenzhen Brand Week was organized by the Federation of Shenzhen Industries and 90 other institutions.

Established in 2017, China Brand Day takes place May 10 every year. Shenzhen has become the only city in the country to hold local themed activities for China Brand Day for six consecutive years, according to the organizers of Shenzhen Brand Week.
