More intercontinental routes to open in June

A flight operated by Hainan Airlines departed from Shenzhen to Rome at 1:15 a.m. Saturday, marking the resumption of three of the company’s intercontinental routes within a month.

The Shenzhen-Rome route will operate twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays.

This particular route marks the third international route that the airline has reinstated in Shenzhen this year, following the resumption of routes to London and Paris.

The airline also plans to resume the route between Shenzhen and Auckland on June 17. Flights between the two cities will be available Tuesdays and Saturdays, departing from Shenzhen at 2:45 a.m. and arriving in Auckland at 6:10 p.m. (local time). Starting from June 21, the route between Shenzhen and Brussels will resume. It is the second route between the Chinese mainland and Brussels the airline will resume in addition to its Beijing-Brussels route.

Flights on this route will operate every Wednesday and Sunday. The outbound flight will leave Shenzhen at 1:55 a.m. and arrive in Brussels at 8 a.m. (local time). The inbound flight will leave Brussels at 11:50 a.m. and arrive in Shenzhen at 5 a.m. the following day.

China Southern Airlines will resume three flights a week from Shenzhen to Sydney every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday starting from June 16, a source from the operator showed.

Data from the Shenzhen airport showed departing flights from the airport will connect Shenzhen with 25 cities worldwide by the end of June, with 450 international flights per week.
