Shenzhen is expected to host a total of 189 exhibitions this year, up by 3.6 times year on year, according to the city's commerce bureau.

The total exhibition area of these fairs is expected to exceed 8 million square meters. By now, the city has held roughly 80 fairs and exhibitions with a total exhibition area of 4 million square meters.

By the end of March, there were 24 UFI (Union of International Fairs) certified exhibitions in Shenzhen, ranking second in China. Eighteen Shenzhen companies have met the UFI certification standards, and 29 fairs and exhibitions are listed among the top three in China in their sector, respectively.

The city government has been providing support incentives to the sector. According to the city's commerce bureau, the rental prices and overall exhibition costs of the city's three major exhibition venues, including the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center, are the lowest among China's first-tier cities.

"Shenzhen is a capital of innovation and an important technology center for the automotive industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center, considering its facilties and scale, is an ideal location for auto shows. That was the reason why we settled in Shenzhen," an official with Frankfurt auto parts show said.

The city also provides excellent transportation services to ensure that large-scale exhibitions proceed smoothly. Free bus and Metro rides have been offered to visitors of large-scale exhibitions.
