More than 800 companies from home and abroad are showcasing their latest technologies and products at the CEE2023 Shenzhen International Consumer Electronics Expo, which opened yesterday at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District.

With an exhibition area of 80,000 square meters, the fair, in its inaugural session, is expected to receive more than 100,000 professional visitors from more than 60 countries and regions.

MXW Device (Shenzhen) Co. is a Shenzhen company that specializes in research, development and manufacturing of electronics. “We’ve brought our latest product, P2.5 transparent display, which has received a lot of attention from visitors at previous fairs at home and abroad,” said Bu Maomin, the company’s sales director.

Zhu Haijuan, deputy general manager of Shenzhen Kowin Semiconductor Technology Co., said that there has been an increasing number of fairs and exhibitions taking place this year and many of the fairs are crowded. “We hope to obtain more orders through participating in this exhibition,” Zhu said.

CEE2023, focusing on artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and energy storage, aims to become a one-stop procurement and technology exchange platform for the entire semiconductor industry chain.

“At the show, we’ve met a lot of existing customers and are looking for more new customers. We are also interested in purchasing some new products during the fair that can help us to promote our company,” said QiuHao, an exhibitor from Anhui Province.

Shenzhen has endeavored to bring in more exhibition organizers as well as a number of exhibitions with international influence to settle in the city. More than 30 established industry exhibitions, such as Automechanika, the renowned Frankfurt auto parts fair, and the China International Battery Fair, have taken roots in Shenzhen. Insiders say CEE has the potential to gain a foothold in the industry.

“Shenzhen is the world’s largest manufacturing base for smart terminals, and its AI-related industries have been growing rapidly,” Huang Hongsheng, founder of Skyworth Group and Skyworth Auto, said at a forum on the sideline of the fair.

Zhao Xin, managing director of Creativity Exhibition (Shenzhen) Co., an organizer of the fair, said, “We hope to further tap into local demand and innovations, and present more innovative new products and technologies next year.”
