Various cutting-edge technologies and the latest products in the public security sector were unveiled at the 19th China Public Security Expo (CPSE), which commenced yesterday morning at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District.

The event attracted over 1,000 professional attendees, including section chiefs from various departments across China, such as digital government, digital public security, digital urban management, and digital emergency rescue. Also present were experts, scholars, heads of security associations, and representatives from over 60 global security industry organizations.

According to Yang Peng, secretary-general of CPSE, the four-day expo features offerings from over 1,100 high-quality multinational companies. The expo occupies an impressive exhibition area of 110,000 square meters, is divided into nine featured exhibition halls, and will display more than 60,000 digital city industry products and solutions.

The products cover a wide spectrum, including digital transportation, digital justice, digital urban management, digital parks and communities, digital government affairs, digital education, and digital health care.

China Telecom, China Mobile, and China Unicom highlighted the crucial role of new-generation mobile information and communication technology in supporting the development of digital cities. Renowned companies like Huawei, Tencent, Seagate, and ZTE showcased their latest technologies and applications.

The 2023 Digital City World Congress, held concurrently with CPSE, saw participation from over 20 academicians and more than 300 experts and entrepreneurs from around the world. Discussions at the congress revolved around various topics, including the top-level design of digital cities, experiences in digital city construction in countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, and digital governance.

CPSE reflects the robust growth of China’s security industry over the past four decades. The global digital security industry is expected to achieve a total output value of US$500 billion by the end of this year, with China holding a 40% market share in the global security market.
